Wilson County Expo Center announces general manager
Wilson County Government is pleased to announce Zendel Murphy joined the staff of the Wilson County Expo Center as the General Manager. Mr. Murphy began his journey with Wilson County on Monday, October 17, 2016.
As the general manager, Mr. Murphy’s responsibilities will focus primarily on the customer’s experience. Wilson County Expo Center seeks to be a premier event venue in Middle Tennessee. Mr. Murphy will work side by side with Charity Toombs, Marketing Director, to fulfill contracts to the customer’s upmost satisfaction. Mr. Murphy will also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the interior of the facility.
Mr. Murphy comes to Wilson County with more than 20 years of experience in a management role, having served as a Manufacturing Supervisor with Toshiba America Consumer Products and most recently serving as the Operations Manager for AAA Coatings, Inc. Mr. Murphy has expertise in project management, coordination of safety and ergonomic training, and coordination of maintenance departments.
Mr. Murphy was the Salutatorian of his graduating class at Watertown High School. He attended Draughon’s Business College as well as Cumberland University.
Two custodian positions have also been filled for the Expo Center. The custodians will begin clean-up and preparation of the facility for the upcoming first event. The Wilson County Expo Center is set to open in November.
