The Wilson County Insurance Committee met in discussion regarding spending expenses and significant savings results of the County’s insurance plan.
Wilson County Finance Director, Aaron Maynard, discussed with committee members the county’s savings over the current year and in comparison of the previous year’s claims.
Maynard mentioned that the majority of savings is to most likely come from different networks options, which would further result in lower costs.
According to insurance official, Jud Nave of THW Insurance in Lebanon, this year the county recorded a significant amount of savings in paid claims.
As of this year, last month (June 2016), the county has saved over $1 million in paid claims, compared to last year.
The County was recorded to have spent $1,088,155 million less in claims over the current fiscal year.
The total claims paid throughout the previous year, as recorded in (June 2015) of the prior year, totaled an amount of almost $3.8 million in paid claims.
